and an average of 10-12 microplastic particles per liter have been reported for Gulf of Maine surface waters. SHould there be more? What happens to them? That still is a lot of particles when you add up all of the ocean waters! Might this be more or less than the microscopic organisms that co-exist with these microplastic particles?

We have found nearly 8 microplastics per liter of ocean water in the Gulf of Mexico!
