Phew! You’ve got the kids wondering, created investigations, and headed outside to collect, collect, collect. Now what? Exploring the data that you and your students collected is a gateway into the critical skills all of us need to understand the news and make informed decisions in our day to day life. In this module, you will be introduced to what data literacy means and where you can find data skills in our commonly followed standards. You will conquer the basics of working with sets of data, asking questions of data, choosing and creating graphic visuals, and recognizing patterns. With a mix of background reading and sample lesson sequences, you will find resources for helping you and your students navigate the world of big data!
